Immunopharmacology Comments
There is a strong link between S1P and multiple sclerosis (MS), which involves reactive T-lymphocytes in an autoimmune inflammatory demyelinating disease. One of the animal models for this is Experimental Auto Encephalitis (EAE).A 2017 paper [1] demonstrates that an inhibitor of sphingosine kinase 2 (ROMe, which also reduces cell surface S1P1 receptor expression) has an anti-inflammatory action in EAE.
