Immunopharmacology Comments |
This is the type I cytokine receptor for interleukin 12 (IL-12). It is a heterodimeric receptor formed by IL-12R-β1 (IL12RB1; ligand binding subunit) and IL-12R-β2 (IL12RB2). IL-12R signals via the JAK-STAT pathway. IL-12 receptor activation promotes the development of Th1 responses and induces IFNγ production by T and NK cells. Patients with inactive IL-12 receptors exhibit impaired mycobacterial immunity, with a failure to produce an IFNγ response to IL-12 [1]. |
