Comment: RANK ligand (TNFSF11) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) cytokine family. It can exist in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. It is a key factor for osteoclast differentiation and activation. Osteoprotegerin acts as a decoy receptor for RANK ligand.
