Used in the treatment of hypertension and tachycardia and in the management of glaucoma. Bupranolol does not appear to have marketing approval in the US or EU, although individual countries may have approved use of this drug.

Bupranolol reduces resting heart rate, cardiac output, and blood pressure by inhibiting sympathetic stimulation arising from β1-adrenergic receptor activation in the heart.
