Comment: ICAM-1 is a cell-adhesion molecule that is overexpressed on the surface of a number of cancer cells types [1,5], and this may be correlated with metastasis and poor prognosis . These findings suggest ICAM-1 as an ideal target for oncology therapeutic development . Monoclonal antibodies (and antibody-drug conjugates) that target ICAM-1 are being explored for anti-tumour potential [4,6-7], and there is a report of the experimental effect of ICAM-1 targeting CAR-T cells in triple-negative breast cancer .
