Inhibition of PDHK2 increases pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) activity, PDH activity being key to controlling the rate of glucose oxidation. Activation of PDH is predicted to increase glucose uptake and reduce glucose production, thereby improving control of blood glucose levels.
