Comment: Sepetaprost (ONO-9054) is dual agonist of the prostanoid FP and EP3 receptors [1-2,7-8]. It was designed to reduce intraocular pressure [3].

| Results from phase 2 clinical trial NCT02083289, in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma indicated that sepetaprost (ONO-9054) was more effective in reducing intraocular pressure and had a longer lasting effect than latanoprost (isopropyl ester) (Xalatan) [4]. First approval was granted by Japan's PMDA in 2025, to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension. |
