Comment: Diazepam binding inhibitor/Acyl-CoA-binding protein (ACBP) an a 11kD peptide with multiple biological actions [1,3,5]. It is reported to bind to thiol esters of long fatty acids and coenzyme A. It also displaces diazepam from the benzodiazepine binding domain of type A gamma-aminobutyric acid GABA_A receptors [2,4], which suggests that it may act as an allosteric GABA_A modulator.
