Bioactivity Comments
Tilmicosin demonstrates activity against Gram-positive bacteria and also against selected Gram-negative spp., including those that are the common cause of respiratory tract infections in animals [3]. The MIC for antibacterial activity in vitro is 3.12 μg/ml against Mannheimia haemolytica and 6.25 μg/ml against Pasteurella multocida [2].
Tilmicosin inhibitis bacterial protein synthesis with an IC50 of 0.36 ± 0.02 μM [1].
