In Novemebr 1997, flurithromycin ethylsuccinate was granted approval by the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) and indicated for oral treatment of bacterial infections of the lower respiratory tract, ear, nose and throat infections and peridonatal infections. It has been associated with adverse events, including acute interstitial nephritis [1]. We have been unable to find information regarding current approval of this drug on the AIFA website or in other jurisdictions. |
