Bioactivity Comments
Activation of the deacetylase SIRT3 by honokiol has been reported [7]. Subsequent analyses show that honokiol activates SIRT3 non-steady-state rate of deacetylation (at high enzyme concentration, low reaction time), but under steady-state conditions (low enzyme concentration, high reaction time) it inhibits the rate of deacetylation [3].
