Comment: Cefotetan is a semi-synthetic, broad-spectrum, β-lactamase-resistant, second-generation cephalosporin antibacterial. Because of its inhibitory activity towards human aldehyde dehydrogenase, cefotetan produces an effect to ethanol similar to that produced by disulfiram (Antabuse).
