CHEMBL report that the molecular targets of this drug are phosphodiesterases 3A and 4 (genes PDE3A, PDE4A, PDE4B, PDE4C and PDE4D) are listed in this database, in the Cyclic nucleotide turnover section. Drug-induced inhibition of phosphodiesterases causes increased cAMP levels, which results in relaxation of the bronchial smooth muscle, and antagonises adenosine receptors.
