Comment: Oroxylin A is an active phytochemical that can be isolated from the Chinese herb Huang-Chi (Astragalus mongholicus; Mongolian milkvetch in English) and other herbal plants such as Scutellaria baicalensis. It has demonstrated anti-inflammatory [3,5-6,8], anti-infection [2,7] and anti-tumour activities [9] in experimental models, which suggests therapeutic potential in human diseases [4].
![]() Ligand Activity Visualisation ChartsThese are box plot that provide a unique visualisation, summarising all the activity data for a ligand taken from ChEMBL and GtoPdb across multiple targets and species. Click on a plot to see the median, interquartile range, low and high data points. A value of zero indicates that no data are available. A separate chart is created for each target, and where possible the algorithm tries to merge ChEMBL and GtoPdb targets by matching them on name and UniProt accession, for each available species. However, please note that inconsistency in naming of targets may lead to data for the same target being reported across multiple charts. ✖ |

Immunopharmacology Comments |
Anti-inflammatory action has been reported in in a range of inflammation models [3,6,8]. In psoriasis models oroxylin A is reported to disrupt the PKCζ-p62 (sequestosome 1, autophagy receptor) interaction in macrophages, which results in inhibition of NF-κB signalling and M1 macrophage activation. |
