Comment: Wollamide B is a cyclic hexapeptide antibacterial compound with activity against Gram-positive bacteria and mycobacteria. The compound was initially isolated from Streptomyces MST-115088 [3].

| Bioactivity Comments |
| Wollamide B demonstrates activity against Gram-positive bacteria with an IC50 of 0.6-2.2 μM [3]. It also has promising antimycobacterial activity with an IC50 of 3.1 μM against Mycobacterium bovis [3] and a MIC of 0.6 μM against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv [1]. Using the wollamide B scaffold, a series of analogues has been developed that have improved selectivity and are active against multidrug-resistant M. tuberculosis clinical isolates [2,4]. |
