Bioactivity Comments
The anti-epileptic activity (reduction of neuronal hyperexcitability that plays a role in epileptic activity and seizures) of CBDV is thought to be mediated by its effect on transient receptor potential (TRP) cation channels, such as TRAP subfamily V member 1 (TRPV1, a.k.a. capsaicin receptor), TRPV2 and TRPA1. CBDV reduces seizures in pre-clinical models of epilepsy.
