The ‘related to tyrosine kinase receptor’ (Ryk) is structurally atypical of the family of RTKs, particularly in the activation and ATP-binding domains. RYK has been suggested to lack kinase activity and appears to be involved, with FZD8, in the Wnt signalling system [1].
