General Comments |
Cytidine deaminase (CDA) is an enzyme of the pyrimidine salvage pathway (a subdivision of nucleotide salvage). Salvage returns bases and nucleosides that are formed during degradation of RNA and DNA to the biosynthesis and interconversion pathways. CDA is a homotetrameric enzyme that catalyses the irreversible hydrolytic deamination of cytidine->uridine and deoxycytidine->deoxyuridine. This enzyme is the molecular target of the synthetic nucleoside analogue pharmacoenhancer cedazuridine. |
