Immunopharmacology Comments
CD66e is included in GtoImmuPdb because of its role in pathogen recognition.
General Comments
CD66e (CEACAM5) is an epithelially expressed molecule required for cell adhesion, cellular migration, pathogen binding and activation of signaling pathways. This protein contains an immunoglobulin (Ig)-like domain that resembles the antibody variable domain, that has been coined the 'V-set domain'. The genes for all human V-set domain containing proteins are listed in HGNC gene group 590.
