GtoPdb Ligand ID: 9454

Immunopharmacology Ligand
Compound class: Synthetic organic
Comment: PQA-18 is a novel, non-competitive PAK2 inhibitor with potent immunosuppresive activity [1]. It is a derivative of the natural metabolite Ppc-1 (PubChem CID 46910769) extracted from Polysphondylium pseudo-candidum.

Immunopharmacology Comments
PQA-18 inhibits PAK2 resulting in immunosuppresive effects (including inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokine (IL-2, IL-4, IL-6 and TNFα) production. This effect has been demonstrated in vitro and in vivo [1]. In mouse models, PQA-18 decreased a population of regulatory T cells and antigen-specific immune response, and alleviated dermatitis in a mouse model of human atopic dermatitis.
