Tiratricol is not approved by the US FDA or EMA. It appears to be approved only in France, Argentina and Peru. Where it is in use, it is administered to manage thyroid hormone resistance syndrome. It has also been used in preparations claiming to aid weightloss, but public health agencies have warned against such use.
