Pinacidil is an anti-hypertension drug, to be used in combination with diuretics. This drug was originally approved by the US FDA in 1989, but use has since been discontinued. The drug may still be approved for use in other countries.

Pinacidil acts to open ATP-sensitive potassium channels [1] on smooth muscle cells causing peripheral vasodilatation of arterioles, and thereby reduces blood pressure. However, we have been unable to find affinity data for this drug (at the human target) to substantiate this MMOA.
